Case Study: Adding AC to an Existing System

We recently had the opportunity to install a new heating and cooling system for a customer in the Southwestern section of Columbia. It was a smaller home that had an existing gas furnace central heating system, but did not have a central air conditioner. The gas furnace was relatively new so the customer asked about adding a central air conditioner to their existing system. We gave them four different options to consider:

  1. adding air conditioning and keeping the current furnace
  2. adding air conditioning and replacing the furnace at the same time
  3. adding an air conditioner which would double as a heat pump for added energy savings
  4. adding an air conditioner which would double as a heat pump and replacing the furnace at the same time

The customer chose to keep their current furnace and add an air conditioner that would double as a heat pump for added energy savings. They were able to finance their purchase at a very low interest rate through our partnership with Bryant and Wells Fargo Bank, N. A.

The installation went smoothly and we were able to reconfigure their furnace to add a four inch filter rack for increased air filtration and comfort. They are now enjoying their central air just in time as the temperatures in our area have started to rise.

More hot days are ahead so if you are considering replacing or upgrading your heating and cooling system, it would be our pleasure to discuss your options before making a purchase. Please call us at (573) 777-3660 or click here to submit a Contact Us form.
