Five Ways to Unclog Sink and Bathtub Drains

Clogged sinks and drains are some of those unpleasant experiences in life we all have to deal with from time to time. But there are simple ways of drain cleaning and unclogging other blockages and you can try these before you call for professional help in Columbia.

Use a wire

Lift the cover from the drain and remove all sorts of gunk from underneath it especially hair. Then use a steel wire with a hook at one end to go deep into the drain to clear it out completely by pulling all sorts of debris from inside it. If you do not have access to a wire, improvise with a steel hanger by straightening it out. This should do the job. If not there are other ways of drain cleaning.

Help from the kitchen shelf

Make a mixture of baking soda and vinegar and pour it down the drain. Keep it overnight without washing it out with water. The power of vinegar and soda should do the trick and unclog the drain. Alternatively a mixture of salt, baking soda and hot water also does the trick.

Vacuum away the gunk

Use the vacuuming-liquid setting in your vacuum cleaner to unclog the drains. It will work the same way by pulling all debris into the vacuum.

Plunger to the rescue

Fill the sink or tub with water and pull a toilet plunger to clear the blockages.

Snake attack

A snake is a plumbing tool, which can go up to 25 feet down the drain clearing out all clutter that is blocking the drain.
